Challenge: Posterior baby at 39 weeks with planned induction for gestational diabetes

Solution: Rebozo sifting, side-lying release and forward leaning inversion

Place of birth: Birth centre

“Mum was due to be induced at 1pm that day. I arrive at their home at 10am, we do rebozo sifting and side lying release, followed by inversion in bedroom. Mum walks back downstairs and announces "she's turned" and before I go to sit on their sofa, mum starts to have surges there and then! She was able to avoid induction and have a beautiful birth centre birth.”

Challenge: Posterior baby during labour

Solution: Forward leaning inversion

Place of birth: Home

“A primip mum (first baby) is in labour at home and her baby turns posterior. She gets out of the pool and we do a forward leaning inversion with her kneeling on a dining room chair onto floor (birth partner holding the chair for stability). Her back pain eases immediately as the baby turns and fully engages quickly, leading to a quick, smooth birth while leaning over the back of the same chair, while focusing on an affirmation placed on floor.”
